I’m Dr. Lynn Bornfriend, a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in Adult, Child, Adolescent, and Forensic Psychiatry with extensive training and experience in integrative mental health care. My journey into psychiatry began with a fascination for human behavior, relationships, and healing—first sparked by childhood dreams of becoming a doctor after watching TV heroes save lives in dramatic hospital scenes. Over the years, this passion evolved into a deep commitment to helping people navigate life’s complexities, heal emotional wounds, and discover their strengths.

What truly transformed my approach to psychiatry was a combination of professional and personal experiences. During my time at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, I witnessed the profound toll of polypharmacy and medication interactions, especially while supporting patients and losing loved ones to cancer. This motivated me to explore holistic and integrative methods of care, including mindfulness, wellness practices, and alternative therapies. Today, I blend evidence-based psychopharmacology with innovative interventions like pharmacogenomic testing, neurofeedback, TMS, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy to craft personalized, whole-person treatment plans.

In my practice, I aim to create a safe, supportive space where patients feel seen, heard, and empowered. I understand that everyone’s journey is unique, and I tailor treatments to honor each individual’s needs, history, and goals. My greatest joy is witnessing my patients rediscover their capacity for growth, connection, and joy.

Life Outside The Clinic

Outside of work, I cherish time with my family, including my husband, two grown children, and our ever-energetic doodles. We are adventurers at heart, whether we’re exploring National Parks, scuba diving, or savoring new cuisines during our travels. I’m also a film buff, an avid reader, and a lifelong appreciator of art and dance, having taken many classes in both disciplines. My friends and family often describe me as warm, nurturing, dynamic, and resilient—qualities I strive to bring into every patient interaction.
